Painted Canyons of The West

July 12th, 2020

Colorado and Utah are home to some of America’s greatest national parks and on this adventure we’ll see them all as we tour The American West. Saddle up, cowpokes we’re headed for the adventure of a lifetime.

We’ll meet up in Denver, Colorado, the Mile High City, spend a bit getting to know one another and the next morning we’re off!

The Rocky Muontains

On our drive to Grand Junction we’ll have spectacular views of the many millions of years old Rocky Mountains and Glenwood Canyon. That evening we will enjoy a three course Western feast with Colorado wines courtesy the West family.

Yes Virginia, there is wine in Colorado

Our Western adventure kicks into high gear with our visit through the awe-inspiring natural sandstone architecture of the Colorado Plateau, Canyonlands National Park, and Utah’s Arches National Park.

Next up is the surreal drama of the Utah desert as we travel across Utah’s Scenic Byway 24 to Capitol Reef National Park. Named in part for the Navajo Sandstone’s resemblance to the U.S. Capitol building, we’ll stand inside its desert landscape where on the right day, it’s almost impossible to tell where the earth stops and the sky begins.

Over Boulder Mountain on Scenic Byway 12, known as the Million Dollar Road, our views of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument will take your breath away. The mountain is North America’s highest timbered plateau. That night we’ll bunk at the gateway to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Our day three dinner destination, the Red Cliffs Lodge on the banks of the Colorado River.
Bryce Canyon

The famous fairy chimneys and goblins, the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park. These red and orange hued rock formations are products of thousands of years of wind and water exposure, dominate the park’s landscape. Just outside of Zion National Park, Springdale offers views from its main street that are almost equally as grand as the ones inside the park.
