Antarctica!
Imagine an adventure so breathtaking, so awe-inspiring, and so full of visual wonder that you just may hit sensory overload. The tip of the Southern Hemisphere was not reached by mankind until Roald Amundsen’s expedition in December of 1911. Think about that.
It’s been barely 100 years since a human first visited the South Pole. And although we won’t be going that far,we’ll visit some of the same areas and view the same geographic spectacles that tantalized such famous explorers as Sir Francis Drake, James Cook, Ernest Shackleton, and Roald Amundsen. But it won’t all be icy landscapes and penguins. We’ll fly into the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires, Argentina. We’ll spend two days exploring this glorious city.
Then we’ll board the the stylish and comfortable MS Fram. The Fram will take us South towards the mystical waters of legendary explorers and the amazing sights of the Antarctic. We’ll explore vistas of shockingly blue waters, enormous white glaciers, majestic floating icebergs, and busy penguin rookeries. We’ll see breaching whales crashing, and scenes of pure ice walls. Cruise through the Lemaire Channel, where steep, sheer cliffs rise above the narrow iceberg-filled passage. You have the option of zipping by Zodiac boat into small bays and harbors for personal and in-depth exploration. Make your way to Whalers Bay on Deception Island with its warm springs and black volcanic sand.
This will truly be an incredible adventure. One that you and your family will talk about for years to come. To sign up for this breathtaking adventure, please call Jeanne today at 864-993-1955.
